1.   Conduct a hazard analysis to identify and assess potential biological, chemical, or physical hazards that may compromise food safety.
2.   Identify critical control points (CCPs) in the production process where control measures can be applied to  prevent, eliminate, or reduce identified hazards to acceptable levels.
3.  Establish measurable criteria, such as temperature, time, pH, or other relevant factors, to ensure that CCPs are under control. These are known as critical limits.
4.  Establish procedures for regularly monitoring and verifying that CCPs are operating within critical limits.
5.  Develop procedures to be followed when monitoring indicates that a CCP is not under control. These corrective actions aim to prevent unsafe products from reaching consumers.
6.  Periodically verify that the HACCP system is functioning effectively by reviewing records, conducting audits, and reassessing hazards and CCPs.
7. Maintain documentation of all aspects of the HACCP plan, including hazard analysis, CCPs, critical limits, monitoring results, corrective actions, and verification activities.
