Introduction

The Quality Management System Auditor/Lead Auditor course is intended to equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct audits (first party, second party, and third-party) of Quality Management Systems in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO 17021, as relevant. The training satisfies the requirements for individuals interested in registering as an Auditor or Lead Auditor. The course concentrates on auditing against ISO 9001.

Who Should Attend?

  • The course is open to various individuals involved in Quality Management System (QMS) such as Management Representatives, core group members, and process heads responsible for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and auditing QMS.
  • All employees whose work responsibilities directly affect QMS are also welcome to attend.
  • The course is also suitable for those responsible for conducting first party, second party, or third-party audits, Management System Professionals and Consultants, personnel from Certification Bodies, and students who want to develop cross-functional skills for future assignments.
  • Individuals who are interested in pursuing external auditing as a profession and becoming a registered ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor can also benefit from this course.

Pre-Requisites:

Delegates attending the course must have prior knowledge in the following areas:

  • Understanding the purpose of a quality management system and its standards, as well as the benefits of improved performance.
  • Familiarity with the structure and content of ISO 9001 and its relationship with ISO 9000.
  • Understanding the specific quality management requirements of ISO9001.
  • This prior knowledge can be obtained through the completion of a certified QMS Foundation Training course or an equivalent.

Learning Outcome

After completing this course, delegates should be able to:
a) Explain the purpose of a quality management system, its standards, and how improved performance can benefit a business. They should also understand the role of management system audit, third-party certification, and the benefits of improved performance.
b) Describe the responsibilities of an auditor in planning, conducting, reporting, and following up on a quality management system audit according to ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021.
c) Plan, conduct, report, and follow up on an audit of a quality management system to determine whether it conforms to ISO 9001, in compliance with ISO 19011, and ISO/IEC 17021.

The courses are conducted via virtual classrooms.

Duration

5 days/ 40 Hours

Methodology of Delivery

The course is delivered using the following methods:
a) Workshops and exercises that promote accelerated learning
b) Role-play, case studies, and group and individual discussions
c) Mock audits and presentation of findings

Examination

Upon completion of the course, there will be a two-hour examination. Successful delegates will receive a certificate of achievement. Delegates who attended the full course but did not pass the exam can retake the exam within 12 months of the course end-date.
